John 4:23-24 "But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in sprit an in truth: for the Father seeketh such to workship him."
We are a group of people who have formed and are members of a congregation after the pattern described in the New Testament.
We are simply Christians Acts 11:26; Acts 26:28; 1 Peter 4:15-16, followers of Christ, and we comprise a church that is "of Christ" Romans 16:16. We do not accept or go by any designations that are not found in the scriptures. Christ is our only creed, the Bible our only guide.
We strive to be a church after the pattern found in the New Testament -- in how we become Christians and live as Christians; in what we teach; in the work we do as a church; and in the way that we are organized. There is no man, or group of men who dictate the doctrine for the church. We have no one to answer to but Christ Colossians 1:18.
We are trying to speak where the Bible speaks and to be silent where the Bible is silent, to do Bible things in Bible ways and to call Bible things by Bible names. We are interested in honoring God, in following Christ, and in learning, doing, and teaching God's word. We accept the bible as being both verbally inspired and infallible in content 2 Peter 1:20-21, 1 Corinthians 2:11-13.
We are your neighbors, your fellow-workers, and your fellow-students. We are a group of people who have been saved from our sins and who are interested in the salvation of others. We want Heaven to be our eternal home and yours.
YOU ARE INVITED TO OUR ASSEMBLIES
When you worship with us, you will be received as a friend. We believe this should be the attitude of those who truly love God. Though you may at first be among strangers, we hope that you will come to know us and count us as friends.
The Christians at the Gardendale Church of Christ welcome the opportunity to study the bible and share the good news of God's word with all who wish to hear it. Please contact us or check this site for free online bible studies, sermon outlines, bulletin articles, and sermon downloads.
5/6/2010We Are Simply Christians
We strive to speak where the Bible speaks, and to be silent where it is silent. Instead of the confusion offered by the modern religious world, we strive to follow the "Simplicity of Christ." Our church strives to worship God exactly how the early christians did. We truly have no other creed than the Bible.
